Blaine LeRoy Thompson, 87, of St. Cloud, MN, formerly of Viroqua died Tuesday, March 13, 2012 Blaine LeRoy Thompson, 87, of St. Cloud, MN, formerly of Viroqua died Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at St. Cloud Hospital. Blaine was born on March 26, 1924 in Viroqua to Thomas and Lena (Andersen) Thompson. Blaine graduated from Viroqua High School then joined the U.S. Army in 1942 where he served until 1945. Blaine farmed for a number of years before working at Stoughton Highway and Trailer. For the past eleven years hes lived in St. Cloud, Minnesota at the veterans home. Blaine is survived by son Leroy; granddaughter Ashley; and sister Merle Solverson; and former wife Mary. He was preceded in death by five brothers; four sisters; and his parents. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua. Pastor Mark Testerman will officiate with burial in Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
