Blasius Gross, 81, of rural Viola died Monday, March 26, 2012 Blasius Gross, 81, of rural Viola died Monday, March 26, 2012 at Vernon Manor Nursing Home in Viroqua. Blasius was the beloved son of Markus and Benigina (Thernes) Gross, born on February 3, 1931 in Romania. On March 21, 1954 he was united in marriage to his loving wife Hildegard Fuchs. Blasius was a master carpenter and contractor, and made his home in rural Viola for nearly 40 years. Blasius is survived by his wife Hildegard; son Oliver (Margaret)Gross; daughter Bettina (Dean) Currao; grandchildren: Carl Gross, Tesa Gross, Amanda Sobieski, Valerie Sobieski; step-granddaughters Shealen and Caitrin Currao; great-grandson Dominic Sobieski; and extended family in Germany, Denver, CO, and Southern IL. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm, Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Vosseteig Funeral Homes Henthorn Memorial Center, 129 S. Main, in Viola. Pastor Wayne Hull will officiate with burial in the Viola Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 12 noon until the time of the service at 1 p.m. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Homes Henthorn Memorial Center is serving the family.
