Bonnie Hanson

September 21, 1945 — April 30, 2014

Bonnie Jean Hanson, 68, of Indio, CA. Peacefully passed away at home with her family by her side on April 30, 2014 after a 2 year battle with cancer. She was born September 21, 1945 in Viroqua, WI and graduated from Viroqua High School in 1963. She attended business school and the University of Wisconsin then graduated with an elementary education degree from Arizona State University. On September 3, 1966, she was united in marriage to Roger Hanson at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua, Wisconsin. They transferred with the J.C. Penney Co. to Arizona, New Jersey, and California where she continually dedicated her time and energy to family and community. She supported numerous church youth education programs and volunteered for organizations such as Meals on Wheels and schools. Her passion was her family--creating a loving home and planning unique travel experiences. She enjoyed living a healthy and active lifestyle and loved spending summertime in the mountains at their home in Big Bear Lake, CA. She is survived by her husband Roger, daughters, Angela Ash (Doug) of Roseville, CA, Tamara Platt (Jeff) of Anaheim, CA. grandchildren, Tyler, Austin, Logan (Ash), Kendall, Hunter (Platt) and sister, Illa Mae (David) Moore of Lake Havasu City, AZ. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mildred (Aspensen) Raaum and brother, Alston Raaum. A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 20th at 2:00 pm at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Viroqua. Memorial gathering will be from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at the church on Sunday.
