Brendan Liam Kulp died unexpectedly after a brief illness on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025, at the Richland Hospital, surrounded by family and loved ones. Brendan was born May 18th, 1979, in Evanston, IL, the second son of Fr. Thomas and Elizabeth Kulp. He grew up in Mt Carmel, PA and Blue River, WI, and spent most of his adult life living near and with family on the family farm outside of Blue River.
Brendan's six children are: Lydia (John) Marques, Anysia (Daniel) Van Orden, Alexander, Cecilia (with his first wife Amanda Duran Trumm), and Asael, and Olya (with his second wife Elise Becker). He had three granddaughters, Juliana and Isidora Marques, and Adelaide Van Orden. Brendan's love for his children and grandchildren was beyond measure, and he especially enjoyed collaborating with their many talents. Brendan was a gifted and passionate artist, iconographer, and musician, who performed around Wisconsin and Iowa, and had just started branching into animating his illustrated stories. Everyone who encountered Brendan was struck by his kindness and love, and he enjoyed nothing better than conversing for hours on deep philosophical and religious subjects.
Brendan's lifelong commitment and devotion to his Eastern Orthodox faith guided his spirit throughout the struggles he battled in his life. He is survived by his children and grandchildren; his parents and brothers and sisters: Arian (Karen), Rennie (Jim) Sarchett, Ileana Hamilton, Maria Taillon, Fr Dimitri (Rebekah), Ariadne (Jon) Jeffers, Simeon, and Eliza, many nieces and nephews, his former wives Amanda Duran Trumm and Elise Becker, and many dear friends and loved ones.
The Kulp family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the medical team at Richland Hospital, especially their cherished family friend and nurse Elizabeth Sutherland.
Funeral and burial services will be held on Friday, December 5th, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. at Nativity of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 18426 Chezik Rd, Blue River, WI 53518 with a reception and light refreshments to follow at the Blue River Community Building.
