Bruce Benson

Bruce A. Benson, age 74, of Westby, died Saturday, February 15, 2014 at his home. He was born on January 23, 1940 in Forest City, Iowa to Vernal and Vera (Benedict) Benson. On November 30, 1963 he was united in marriage to Cleone A. Johnson in Delavan, MN. Bruce was a farmer all of his life. He was also an avid reader and a hunter. In addition to his wife, Cleone, he is survived by two daughters: Anne M. (Patrick) Christensen of Orr, MN and Erin K. Benson of Winona, MN; one son, John P. (Tanya) Benson of Viroqua; four grandchildren: John R. Benson, Jacob P. Benson, Alexander P. Benson and Ethan E. Baker; and two nephews: Jeff and Jim Korsa. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Josine L. (Benson) Korsa. Blessed be our memory of Bruce A. Benson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Viroqua. Fr. Michael Klos will celebrate the Mass.
