Byron Elmer Kinsey, age 97 of Viola, died Sunday, February 18, 2007 Byron Elmer Kinsey, age 97 of Viola, died Sunday, February 18, 2007 at the Vernon Manor. He was born on February 7, 1910. On August 5, 1930 he married Audrey Williams at Winona, MN. They lived and farmed in the area known as Camp Creek until they moved to Viola in 1962. Byron enjoyed fishing and hunting. He especially enjoyed hunting morel mushrooms and kept several of his friends well supplied. In August of 2005, Byron and Audrey moved to Vernon Manor and celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on August 5, 2005. In addition to his wife, Audrey, he is survived by three sons: Leroy (Janette) of Viola, Roger (Marilyn) of Foley, Alabama, and Joe (Shirley) of LaFarge; one daughter, Catherine (Gene) Harris of Viola; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren;4 step-great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Jessie) Kinsey; one sister-in-law, Ione Williams; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Amelia (Boede) Kinsey; one sister, Ethlyn (Buchanan, Armstrong) and husband Frank; brother-in-law, George Williams; sister-in-law, Lela (Williams, Ewing) and husband Arthur; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Vosseteig Funeral Homes Henthorn Memorial Center of Viola is serving the family.
