C. Terry 'Butch' Ostrem, 68, of Readstown, died Thursday, October 31, 2013. In Memory of C. Terry Ostrem Cliferd Terry Ostrem, age 68, of Readstown, passed to his eternal home on 10-31-13. He was surrounded by his loving family. Terry was born 5-24-1945. He graduated from Viroqua High School in 1963. He attended the University of Wisconsin at Platteville. He then served in the Navy on the USS Neches. He worked at the Vernon County Highway Dept for a number of years; farmed the family farm; and also drove semi for Millis out of Black River Falls. On 7-27-1991 he married Paula Geasland. After their marriage, he was a forklift operator at two different sawmills in the Viroqua area before his retirement. Terry was a simple guy with a heart of gold, always willing to help his family and friends. Some of his greatest pleasures were time spent with his wife Paula, and the rest of his family. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and farm work. He loved to share a good story or joke; and his favorite place to be was at home! He was known as 'Butch' by his family and friends. He was the dearly beloved husband of Paula; eldest child of Cliferd and Ethelmae; deeply loved father of John 'J.W.' (Virginia) NeCollins & Katherine (Frank) Vandenberg & David (Carrie) Gross; adored 'papa T' to Alexis, Triston, Kyren, Chance, Charish, Gavin, Gracie, and Eli; older sibling of Janelle (Van) Thompson, and Candace (Ross Everson) Litsey; and brother-in-law of John Keyser. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Bill & Eleanore Wiedman, and Ole Ostrem, and Anna Norwick; and his brother-in-law Daniel Litsey. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Bethel Lutheran Church, rural Viroqua. Pastor Pete Beckstrand will officiate with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker St. (hwy 56) in Viroqua. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
