Calvin Anderson, 84, of Westby, died Wednesday, November 1, 2017. Cal A. Anderson, age 84, died Wednesday November 1, 2017 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse. Cal was born on September 4, 1933 in Christiana township to Arlo and Cora (Bakken) Anderson. He was a graduate of Westby High School, Class of 1952, and then graduated from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. Cal married Patricia Nerison on May 16, 1953. Cal hauled milk deliveries to the Westby Creamery. He later was manager of the Cenex Co-op in Westby. Cal also was a substitute teacher in Westby and other area schools. After retirement he enjoyed traveling, which included wintering in Arizona over 20 winters. He enjoyed auctions and flea markets and his fishing trips to Canada. Cal is survived by; his wife Patricia, his children Rick Anderson and Karla (Gary) Newman, his grandchildren Aaron Boomer (Amy) Olson, Monica (Arlen) Wolfe and Melinda (Jim) McGowan, and 5 great-grandchildren Wyatt and Evan Wolfe, Alex and Cody McGowan, and Atley Olson. Also surviving are a sister Janise Appleman, a sister-in-law Janet Anderson, a special niece Deanna Appleman, and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents, a daughter Judy Olson on Jan. 16, 2010, a brother Dean Anderson, a sister Bonnie Anderson and his parents-in-law Marvin and Ruth Nerison. Funeral services for Cal will be Monday November 6, 2017 at 1:30 P.M. at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church in Westby. Pastor Julie Wollman will officiate. Burial with Military Honors will follow the service at Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call during a visitation, one-hour before the service from 12:30-1:30, at the church.
