Carol A. Olsen

Carol Ann Olsen, age 55, of Wauzeka passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was the strongest person known by many as she had battled the many challenges within the last four year, she was known for her “Indian feathers” through this fight. She was born July 31, 1967, to the late Lewis and Mildred (Lenzendorf) Cooley.

Carol grew up in Wauzeka and graduated from Wauzeka High School during this time she was her father’s side kick. Later in 1990, Carol married Kevin Olsen, the love of her life, in Prairie du Chien. Carol biggest joys were her family which included her husband, two children, and her grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, berry picking, and UTV riding or as she called it “buggy rides”.

She had a passion for collecting many treasures such as coins or antiques. Carol loved to take her kids and grandchildren to the fairs while making memories working on fair projects. Carol was an adventurous and spontaneous person, never really having a plan, but just rolling with it. She was extremely caring, loving, and would do anything for for the people she loved.

Carol is survived by her husband, Kevin; her children, Matt (Cheyenne) Olsen and McKenzie Olsen; her grandchildren: Hope, Sawyer, Emmalyn, Taylen, and Laiklyn; her siblings: Betty Hurda, Phillip, Dennis, Janet Klein, Gary, and Ralph; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Christopher; and her niece, Missy Cooley.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Vosseteig Funeral Home in Gays Mills. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Carol will be laid to rest at the Wauzeka Cemetery out on County Road N with a luncheon at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall in Wauzeka to follow.
