Carol Groehler formerly of Viroqua and Richland Center passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2010. Carol Groehler formerly of Viroqua and Richland Center passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2010, at Lakeview Health Center in West Salem following a brief illness, with her family by her side. The former Carol Brom was born April 21, 1950, in Watertown, daughter of Frank and Lilly (Maas) Brom. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1968. She worked at Carnation Genetics for several years. She later moved to the Vernon County area, where she made her home for the last 25 years. Survivors include her children, Leslie of Seaside, Calif., Phillip of Minneapolis, and Carie (Karl) Menk of Minneapolis; a brother, Thomas (Sandra) Brom of Watertown; a sister, Diane (Edward) Meyers of Watertown; nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Barbara; and a brother-in-law, Brian Eckhardt. The family wishes to thank the staff at Family & Children's Center of Vernon County, The Homestead, The Caring House, also Franciscan Skemp of La Crosse and Lakeview Health Center in West Salem for the kind and gentle care given to Carol and her family. A memorial service for the family is planned for a later date The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
