Carol Hamilton

Carol Hamilton, age 77, of La Farge, died on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at The Evergreens Assisted Living in La Crosse, WI. She was born on December 21, 1948, in Burlington, WI, the daughter of Floyd and Betty (Turner) McElhose. Carol lived in La Farge for most of her life, having grown up there. Carol was united in marriage with Bill Hamilton in Galena, IL on June 18, 1968, following a prior marriage with Monte Chroninger. Bill and Carol farmed in West Lima for six years, subsequently returning to La Farge. Carol enjoyed cooking, crafts, pets, and even more so her daughters, grandchildren and quiet family life.

Survivors include two daughters, Christina Sheldon and Michelle Levy; five grandchildren, Anthony and Jessica Reese, Hunter and Jenna Levy, and Casandra Lamb; six great-grandchildren; brother, Randy (Karen) McElhose; sister, Colleen (Kevin) Scott; and many nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Betty McElhose; daughter, Angela; sister, Cindy Borrison and brother, Duane.

Carol will be sadly missed by all who knew here.

A Celebration of Carol’s Life will be held Monday, November 16, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the La Farge Free Methodist Church. A graveside service will follow at Dell Cemetery. A lunch will be held at the church following the burial.
