Carol J. Weber

February 14, 1932 — May 2, 2024

Carol J. Weber, age 92, of Viroqua, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center. She was born February 14, 1932, in La Crosse to Walter and Anna (Huber) Mosser. Carol graduated from Aquinas High School in 1951. She was united in marriage to Donald Weber on May 24, 1952. Carol’s life will be remembered for her love for her family, her friendships, and hard work. Carol’s passions in life were her flowers, farming, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. Carol was a charter member of the Viroqua Eagles Auxiliary 2707. Her greatest tribute was the respect she gave and received from all that knew her.


Survivors include her children, Danny Weber of Viroqua, Diane Young of Eagle, CO, Sandra (Gary Ostrem) Weber of Viroqua, and Karla (Dave) Novey of Byron, MN; nine grandchildren, Lisa (Ben) Johnson, Tyler Fortney, Brooke (Derick) Babler, Zachary (Becky) Novey, Cole (Heidi) Weber, Justin Novey, Brock (Mia) Weber, Brandon (Emily) Novey, and William Young; 10 great-grandchildren, Allison and Evan Johnson, Easton and Fletcher Babler, Sage Weber, Henry, Donald, and Cayden Novey, Bonner and Gentry Novey; her siblings, Mary Lou Arentz and Robert (Carol) Mosser; daughter-in-law, Cindy Weber; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends; and her spoiled dog, Molly.


Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Weber; her son, Scott Weber; her son-in-law, Cliff Young; and her sister, Rita Olson.


We were blessed and fortunate to have such a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother in our lives. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Viroqua. Fr. Joe Richards will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6, at Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. Additional visitation will be held on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Carol will be laid to rest at the Viroqua Cemetery.
