Carol Marion Peltier

VIROQUA Carol Marion Peltier, age 78 of Viroqua, died Thursday January 4, 2018 at Bethel Home. Carol Marion Peltier, 78, of Viroqua, passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday, January 4, 2018 at the Bethel Home in Viroqua Wisconsin. Carol was born March 24,1939 in Milwaukee WI, to Harold and Mary (Madajewski) Jenks. Carol grew up and attended school in Milwaukee, she pursued a career in nursing as an LPN. While working as a nurse she met Eugene Peltier and were married August 31,1959. They resided in Milwaukee and began raising three children. In 1972 they began farming in the Retreat area and in 1976 moved to a farm in rural Viroqua where they resided for many years. Carol was as a determined, fun loving woman who enjoyed making friends and helping others. She held dear her faith as one of Jehovahs Witnesses, and had been an active member with the congregation. Not only did she work as an LPN at Vernon Manor, she raised 3 children, farmed, and was Eugenes partner in their business, Home Warmers. She loved her Jersey cows and was an active member of the Jersey Breeders Association where she presided as the association's President. Upon retirement, Carol and Eugene traveled the country and enjoyed the sights along the way. Due to health issues they took up residence for six years in the warmth of New Mexico before returning to Wisconsin to be closer to family in 2016. Carol was a strong willed person, and passed her endearing qualities and sharp wit on to her children and grandchildren. Carol is survived by her husband of 59 years, Eugene Peltier. Children, Allen (Sandra) Peltier of Viroqua WI, Laura (Chris) Guillaudeu of Purcellville VA, Dan (Vicki) Peltier of Sparta WI. One sister Jeanette (George) Leones Ispeming MI. Grandchildren, Eliza (Charles) Agboyibo, Sarah, Jordan, Taran (Megan) Peltier. Robert, Sabrina Guillaudeu along with many nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Mary Jenks, brother Harold (Buddy) Jenks, Jr. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home is serving the family.
