Carole Ona Running, age 82 of Westby, died Wednesday, February 21, 2007 Carole Ona Running, age 82 of Westby, died Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at the Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua. She was born on February 10, 1925 to Oscar and Carla (Langaard) Running. She was baptized, confirmed and a life long member of Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church, and lived in the same house in Westby all her life. She attended grade school and graduated from Westby High School in 1943. Carole then attended Vernon County Normal School. She worked as a receptionist at Dr. Nestingens dental office in Westby. Carole had been active at church having taught Sunday School for 15 years. She had also been active with the Luther League and WELCA. Carole is survived by her brother, William Running of Savannah, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Carla Running. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 26, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Dennis Hallemeier will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday after 10:00 a.m. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
