Caroline Helen Bjerkos

Caroline Helen Bjerkos, age 54 of Westby, died Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Gundersen-Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse. She was born on August 2, 1951 to Elder and Hazel (Klinski) Carson of Chaseburg. Caroline was baptized at the Hamburg Church and confirmed at St. Peters Ev. Lutheran Church in Chaseburg. On June 5, 1982 she was united in marriage to Robert Bjerkos. She worked for several companies as an accountant, and worked for the past 13 years as a managerial accountant at NCR in Viroqua. She was a Certified Management Accountant and for the last several years taught business courses at WWTC-Viroqua Campus. She loved her gardens and was proud of her flowers. Caroline was featured in the LaCrosse Tribune this past summer for her flower gardens. She was an active member of the English Ev. Lutheran Church in Viroqua. In addition to her husband, Robert, she is survived by a daughter, Brenda Dolan-Pascoe (Brian Pascoe) of Gilbert, AZ; a son, Ryan Bjerkos and his fiance Chelsea Dowling of Fennimore; her mother, Hazel Carson of Chaseburg; a step-granddaughter, Joslynne Pascoe; a brother, Elder (Dianne) Carson of Chaseburg; a sister, Sandy (Michael) Dolan of Akron, OH; an uncle, Raymond Klinski of Caledonia, MN; four great aunts: Lillian Anderson of Viroqua, Irene (Don) Leith of LaCrosse, Dorothy Wuensch of LaCrosse and Gustie Seidel of LaCrosse; a wealth of close friends including Nancy Henckel of Viroqua; and her wonderful dog, Rascal. She had a special love of children, especially her nieces and nephews; and children of her co-workers at NCR. She was preceded in death by her father, Elder G. Carson, Sr. and her father and mother-in-law, Glen and Elaine Bjerkos. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peters Ev. Lutheran Church in Chaseburg. Pastor Jonathan Semro will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery, rural Westby. Following the burial, there will be coffee and fellowship at the English Ev. Lutheran Church, 741 N. East Ave. in Viroqua. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7:30 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. by Pastor James Olsen, at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Friends may also call at the church on Thursday after 10:00 a.m.
