Caroline May Skrupky-Lueck

Caroline Skrupky-Lueck, 65, of Viroqua, died Sunday, July 29, 2018. Caroline Skrupky-Lueck, daughter of Dr. Avery C. and Frances Halberg, was born in Turtle Lake, WI on August 30th, 1952. She grew up in Turtle Lake along with her eight siblings and graduated as valedictorian of Turtle Lake High School. She attended UW-Eau Claire initially and completed her college education with high honors at UW-La Crosse, subsequently serving as a band director for the Westby school district until her retirement. Caroline was gifted with a love and talent for music and she enjoyed sharing that passion with others. In addition to providing musical education for youth in the surrounding communities through her work, she also provided piano lessons and volunteered to play piano for numerous local school musicals. Caroline was academically gifted, taking pride in her work and in helping students. She was also deeply proud of her children and all of their accomplishments. Caroline passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018. She is survived by her husband Steve Lueck; children Ryan, Carrie, Lee (Andrea), Layne (Annie), Brittney (Jared) and Laurissa, as well as 6 grandchildren and1 great grandchild; siblings Dorothy (Robert) Turner-Hadley, Bernie Halberg, John (Cyndi), Connie (Ray) Haselby, Joyce (Russell) Jacques, Erich (Kathy), Jeeveshwari Nithya "Bessy", and Laurie (Grant) Sutherland, and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of plants or flowers, memorials may be sent to the Fine Art Foundation of the Westby Area. A private family service will be held in remembrance of Caroline.
