Cassidy J. Parker, age 28 of rural LaFarge, died on Wednesday, March 7, 2007. Cassidy J. Parker, age 28 of rural LaFarge, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, March 7, 2007. Cassidy was born on June 30, 1978 in Hillsboro, WI to Terry Parker and Brenda (Hastings) Parker. On August 7, 1999 he married Jaime Swiggum and they had a daughter, Desarae, on September 5, 1995. Family and friends were the center of Cassidys life and he especially enjoyed spending time with them. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing and camping. Cassidy had many successes in his personal life and career. He believed in enjoying the present rather than waiting for the future to enjoy life and lived each day to the fullest, like it was his last. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him and will never be forgotten. Cassidy is survived by his wife, Jaime; daughter, Desarae; mother, Brenda Parker; father, Terry Parker; brother, Dustin Parker; grandfather, Bud Hastings; mother and father-in-law, Bill and Liz (Fortney) Swiggum; brothers-in-law, Billy and Dusty Swiggum; sister-in-law, RaChell (Alan) Strait, nieces and nephews: Coral, Noel, Alan, and Brodie; his dear friends: Jon Steinmentz and Brian Fish, as well as many other family members and friends. In addition to his great-grandparents, Evelyn and Ellis Burdette, and Muriel and Roy Hastings, Cassidy was preceded in death by his grandma, Joyce Hastings, and nephew, Brooks Strait. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 12, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the LaFarge United Methodist Church. Pastor Doris Clark will officiate with burial in the Salem Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 11 at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S Hwy 14 in Westby, and at the church on Monday from l0:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The Vosseteig Funeral home of Westby is serving the family.
