Charlene Pederson, age 76 of Westby, died Tuesday, May 31, 2016. Charlene Pederson, age 76 of Westby, died Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Norseland Nursing Home. She was born on July 8, 1939 in Westby to Lillian (Steenberg) Pederson. Her father, Chester Pederson died just prior to Charlenes birth. Lillian married Harold Hagen and Harold raised Charlene as his own. Charlene graduated from Westby High School and worked in the banking industry for nearly 50 years. Charlene was active in the community and volunteered with many organizations including Vernon County Salvation Army, Bethel Buttik, and Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir. Charlene loved to knit and she shared the many things she made with numerous people. She enjoyed reading, bowling, and travelling which included two trips to Norway. She is survived by her siblings: LaMont "Monte" (Shirley) Hagen of Westby, Maureen Pautz of Clinton, and Robert (Sonja) Pederson of Coon Valley; nieces and nephews: Cheryl (Mike) Morgan, Michael (Kelly) Hagen, Annie Warejcka (fianc Michael Kearns), Terry (Sheryl) Pederson, Kris (Mark) Metzer and Jeffery Pederson; one aunt, Ione (Bud) Hauser; great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special friend, Lori Forde. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Terry Pautz. Blessed be our memory of Charlene Pederson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Dan Wollman will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. A Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-6 p.m. at Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. A visitation will also be held at church on Saturday after 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be made to the Coon Prairie Cemetery or the charity of the donors choice.
