Charles Anderson

Charles A. Anderson, age 81 of Westby, died Tuesday, April 8, 2014. Charles Alvin Anderson, 81, passed away on Tuesday, April 8th at the Bland-Bekkedal Hospice Care in Viroqua, with his family by his side. He was born March 30, 1933 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, to Alvin and Lillian (Seidel) Anderson. He attended Pleasant View School in Monroe County. Charles married Elida Thompson on October 11, 1953 in Viroqua, WI. He farmed all of his life, he especially enjoyed going to farm sales. He also enjoyed driving his horses and enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than anything in the world. Charles is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elida; children, Richard (Pam) Anderson and Monte (Angie) Anderson; grandchildren, Ashley (Matt) Lium, Trent Anderson, Trevor Anderson, Zachary Eitland-Anderson, Collin Eitland-Anderson, Ryan (Lissa) Anderson, Melissa (Shawn) Anderson and Megan Anderson; great-grandchildren, Spencer Hanson, Lauren Hanson, Aubree Anderson, Logan Anderson and Jase Lium; his mother, Lillian Anderson of Viroqua, who will be 101 on May 9; sisters, Marjorie (Gordon) Swiggum and Diane Kilmer; sisters-in-law, Joanne Thompson of Westby and Anita Thompson of Janesville; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father; brothersin law, Paul Swiggum, Jon Kilmer, LaVern Thompson and Harlan Thompson. Funeral Service will be Friday, April 11, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church with Pastor Daniel Wollman officiating. Burial will follow in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, April 10, 2014 from 4-6 pm at the Vosseteig Funeral Home in Westby. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
