Charles Duane Sanborn, 55, of De Soto, died Friday, February 24, 2012. Charles Duane Sanborn, 55, of DeSoto, died Friday, February 24, 2012 in his home. Chuck was born August 14, 1956 in Viroqua to Charles and Margaret (Quain) Sanborn. On April 26, 1975 Chuck was united in marriage to his wife Kathleen Marie Ghelf in Ferryville and together they made their home in the De Soto area where Chuck worked for Bukacek Excavating and Engineering. Chuck loved to golf, fish, ride his motorcycle and enjoyed antique tractors. He also played in a country band for many years, and had several adoring fans. Chuck is survived by his wife Kathleen; children Scott (Heather) Sanborn of Pine Island, MN, and Stacie Sanborn of De Soto; grandchildren Gaven Lee Nummerdor, Isabelle Ryann Sanborn, and another granddaughter on the way; siblings Margie (Virgil) Grimsled of Ferryville, Sharlene Henderson of Holmen, Bonnie (Duane) Switz of Coon Valley, and Marilyn (Don) Roberts of Ferryville. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Margaret Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in DeSoto. The Vossetieg-Larson Funeral Home of DeSoto is serving the family.
