Charlotte L. Jacobson, age 82 of Westby, died Monday, January 5, 2009. Charlotte L. Jacobson, age 82 of Westby, died Monday, January 5, 2009 at her home. She was born on May 2, 1926 on Sugar Grove Ridge, Wisconsin to Clarence and Minnie (Teal) Cole. She married Garold Jacobson on January 1, 1945 and they later divorced. She operated the Bloomingdale Store for a number of years. Charlotte taught 5th grade and then Title I for many years for the Westby School District. She liked her pets, enjoyed bird watching and loved to read. She is survived by four children: Lenore (Larry) Widner of Viroqua, Ann (Jim) Lewis of Cottage Grove, MN, Mark (Lori) Jacobson of Westby, and Paul (Linda) Jacobson of Sugar Grove, IL; eight grandchildren: Camille (Monte) Montgomery, Derek (Meagan) Widner, Ryan Lewis, Kristin Jacobson, Andrew Jacobson, Ben Jacobson, Eric Jacobson, and Daniel Jacobson; three great-grandchildren: Molly and Maddie Montgomery and Kate Widner: one brother, Myron (Shirley) Cole of Westby; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Cole of St. Louis, MO; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: James, Dennis and Ray; one son, Robert and two grandsons. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Westby. Pastor Gary Daines will officiate with burial in the Our Saviors Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Friends may also call on Friday after 10 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be given to the Bekkum Memorial Library or the charity of the donors choice. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
