Charlotte Marie Jones Kotthaus

Charlotte Marie (Jones) Kotthaus, age 92 of Viola, died Saturday, December 9, 2006 at the Bethel Home in Viroqua. She was born on May 9, 1914 in Colfax, Wisconsin, the daughter and only child of Nellie Jones. On June 27, 1935 she was united in marriage to Carl Kotthaus in Colfax, Wisconsin. They lived in Richland Center until 1939 when they moved to Viola where they were in the tavern business for 35 years. Charlotte was a member of the Viola United Methodist Church and loved to sew, crochet, garden and watch birds. She is survived by one son, Wilfred and his wife, Beverly of Holmen; one daughter, Charlene and her husband Steven Henthorn of Viola; four grandchildren: Larry Kotthaus of Fort Wayne, IN, Mike Kotthaus and his wife Erin of Milton, Patti Jo Lecuyer and her husband Gary of Clinton, and Paul Henthorn of Viola. She was preceded in death by her mother and her husband, Carl who died on September 13, 1987. Blessed be the memory of Charlotte M. Kotthaus. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Viola United Methodist Church. Pastor Doris Clark will officiate with burial in the Viola Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Viola Cemetery or the Kickapoo Rescue Squad. The Vosseteig Funeral Homes Henthorn Memorial Center of Viola is serving the family.
