Cheryl M. Pinkham

Cheryl M. Pinkham, 63, of rural Ferryville, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023. Cheryl was born on February 19, 1960, in Richland Center to Eston and MaryLou (Volden) Townsend. She was married to Gary Pinkham for over 30 years. She worked at NCR in Viroqua for 29 years, at the Mt. Sterling Co-Op Creamery, Coulee Cap in Westby, and was presently working at the Vernon County Department of Human Services in Viroqua.

Cheryl was a woman who wore many hats: farmer, mechanic, handywoman, and so much more. When she found free time, she loved spending time hunting and fishing with her husband. Baking, canning, sewing, and engaging in craft activities with her daughter brought her great joy. She always found great happiness in spending time with her friends and neighbors.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Lacey Pinkham; her mother, MaryLou Townsend; brother, Eston Townsend Jr.; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, John Pinkham, Donna (Joe) Connery, Penny (Bob) Selch, Barb (Randy) Mara, Sue (Greg) Bailey, and Mick (Janet) Pinkham. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eston Townsend; sister, Margaret Springborn; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Utica Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 29, at Vosseteig Funeral Home in Gays Mills. Additional visitation will be held Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Cheryl will be laid to rest at the Utica Lutheran Church Cemetery.
