Chester E. "Bob" Cade, age 90 of Viroqua, died Saturday, March 22, 2008. Chester E. "Bob" Cade, age 90 of Viroqua, died Saturday, March 22, 2008 at his home. He was born on September 29, 1917 to Thurman and Martha (Call) Cade on Nottingham Ridge, Vernon County. He had lived all of his 90 years in Vernon County. Chester farmed most of his life and also worked for the Northern Wisconsin Tobacco Pool. Chester was active in the Viroqua Church of Christ where he served as a trustee and deacon. Chester married Nola Hoch on April 3, 1940 and they had three children. Nola died in June, 1976. On October 2, 1982 he was united in marriage to Bernice Oldenburg Weber.Chester is survived by two sons: Loren C. (Margaret) Cade of Viroqua, James L. (Mary) Cade of Viroqua; five step-sons: Alan (Jean) Weber of Cincinnati, OH; William (Verna) Weber of Cincinnati, OH; Thomas (Trish) Weber of Marshalltown, IA; Mark (Michelle)Weber of Rockford, IL; Robert (Susan) Weber of Jefferson City, MO; four grandchildren: Gregory (Julie) Cade, Lynn (Gordy) Reedy, Michael Cade, Jill Cade; twelve step-grandchildren: Wendee (Troy) Heaggberg, Wade Weber, Donovan (Joclyn) Weber, Miki (Randall) Brooks, Chad (Kristin) Weber, Jennifer (Eric) Bryant, James Weber, Tabitha (Scott) Bilyue, Joshua (Krista) Weber, Brock Weber, Brandon (Danell) Weber, Brett Weber; five great-grandchildren; eleven step-great-grandchildren. He is further survived by one sister-in-law: Esther Cade of Viroqua; one brother-in-law: Gerald Bishop of Wildwood, FL; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Nola; one daughter: Kay L. Wilbur in March of 2006; one brother: Perry Cade; one sister: Doris Larson Bishop; step-mother: Ruth Cade.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at The Viroqua Church of Christ. Nathan Prong, Minister, will officiate with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, March 26 from 4-6 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker Street (Hwy 56) in Viroqua. Friends may also call at the church on Thursday after 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Vernon Memorial Hospice, Viroqua Church of Christ or charity of your choice. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
