Christine "Chris" Marie Bromeland

Christine “Chris” Marie Bromeland, age 71, of Gays Mills, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021. She was born December 12, 1949, in Beloit, Wisconsin to Ernie and Birdie (Jarchow) Wiedmer. She attended Clinton High School and following graduation she became a beautician. She married Thomas Bromeland and they were married for 25 years until they divorced. They adopted their son, Tim, in 1984. She lived in Clinton, WI until 2003, when she moved to Janesville and opened her own beauty salon called Heavenly Touch. Due to health concerns, she closed the shop in 2011. Following the salon closure, she worked at Amtec Corporation in Janesville for 12 years. She moved to Gays Mills in 2018 after her retirement to be closer to her son and grandchildren. While in Gays Mills, she worked at Kwik Trip in Boscobel. Chris enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, dancing, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, and the fall season. Survivors include her son, Tim (Cindy) Bromeland; two grandchildren, Rileigh and Alyson Bromeland; her siblings, Kathy Kowalkowski, Pat (significant other, Dave Miller) Gunderson, Linda Wiedmer, and Al (Brenda) Wiedmer; her aunt, Wilma Bostok; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, William “Billy” Wiedmer and Ernest Wiedmer Jr. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family are appreciated. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 22, 2021, at Vosseteig Funeral Home in Gays Mills. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Chris will be laid to rest at the Gays Mills Cemetery.
