Christine M. Anderson, age 77 of Westby, died Monday, December 8, 2008. Christine May (Johnson) Anderson, age 77 of Westby, died Monday, December 8, 2008 at the Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua as the result of a stroke. Christine was born on May 19, 1931 in Westby to Charlie and Ragna (Blihovde) Johnson and was confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. She graduated from Westby High School in 1949 and on September 20, 1952 married Raymond "Dill" Anderson. Christine was employed from 1967 until 1979 as office manager at Pediatric Associates in Springfield, Ohio where she was in charge of all accounting, billing, payroll and correspondence for five doctors. She held several other part-time positions doing billing for various medical offices as she moved with Dill for his employment promotions in five different states. Christine enjoyed fishing, collecting earrings, was an excellent cook and won numerous awards for her beautiful counted cross-stitch needlework. She is survived by her four children: Kathy, Cindy (Jeff) Yohner, Steve and Mike; two grandsons, Spencer and Lucas; her brother, Howard (Maria) Johnson; two sisters: Anna Rae MacDonald and Catherine Schlicht; many in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Westby. Pastor Gary Daines will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday at the church after 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be given to Our Saviors Lutheran Church or Country Coon Prairie Church Preservation. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
