Clarence Raymond Offerdahl, age 85 of Viroqua, died early Monday morning, January 1, 2007 Clarence Raymond Offerdahl, age 85 of Viroqua, died early Monday morning, January 1, 2007 at the Boscobel Health Care Center in Boscobel where he had been a resident since December 4, 2003. He was born on April 5, 1921 in Vernon County, Wisconsin to James and Anna (Nelson) Offerdahl. On November 22, 1950 he was united in marriage to Avis Akright and together they farmed on Asbury Ridge near Viroqua. Clarence was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua. He took personal pride in his tobacco crops. In his lifetime, he enjoyed all children, especially his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. He liked sports, particularly professional football and baseball. The Green Bay Packers were his favorite team. When he was young, he also liked pitching horse shoes with uncles and cousins. He took pleasure in playing his accordion and enjoyed old-time music. He is survived by his wife, Avis; one son, Larry Offerdahl of Mondovi; one daughter, Shirley Olson of Boscobel; two grandchildren: Amy Olson and Lars Offerdahl; one great-granddaughter, Kennedy Olson; one sister, Mallie (Alvin) Gald of Viroqua; one brother-in-law, Raymond Thurin of Viroqua; and two sisters-in-law, Arlene Johnson of Viroqua and Stella Blood of Lake Geneva. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Otis Offerdahl, Albon Offerdahl, Bertha Offerdahl, and Mabel Thurin. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua. Pastor Lindsay Jordan will officiate with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker Street (Hwy 56) in Viroqua. Friends may also call at the church on Friday after 12:00 noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or the organization of the donors choice. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
