Clarence Victor Jeffers

Clarence Victor Jeffers, age 84 of La Farge died Tuesday January 22, 2019. Clarence was born on March 8,1934 in Monroe Co., Wisconsin to John and Emma (Reise) Jeffers. He was a graduate of Westby High School. After graduating he spent some of his early years driving a milk truck, he was a cheesemaker, and even worked on a Mink ranch. Clarence went on to become an excellent mechanic, opening up Jeffers Truck Sales and operating it for over 40 years. He was particularly proud of his restoration of a 1955 red International pickup truck. He was a volunteer fireman with the LaFarge Fire Department for over 25 years. In 2007 he was recognized as Fireman of the Year by the Viroqua Eagles. Clarence married Lula Belle (Peterson) Nelson in 1957, they later divorced. Clarence married Sherlia Ann (Rolfe) Gillett on April 28, 1984 and for over 33-years they enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling and listening to old-time country music. He also loved spending time with his Amish friends and giving them rides all over the countryside. Clarence is survived by; his wife Sherlia, his daughters Linda (Rick) Thomas and Vickie (Tim) Van Blarcom, his stepchildren Diana Parker, Janet Rath, Donald Gillett and Daniel (Nicky) Gillett. He is also survived by; his grandchildren Michael Thomas, Katie (Aaron) Coon and Jacob Van Blarcom as well as his step-grandchildren; Chris Wilson, Jeff (Tina) Wilson, Tamika (Jake) Hiniker, Brandi (Nathan Ruesch) Davies, Chad (Renee) Rath, Tanya (Alan) Nemec, Tosha Gillett, Christina (Jason) Scibona, Danielle Gillett and Jon Gillett. He is further survived by; 23 great-grandchildren, and by his siblings Spencer Jeffers, Joanne Litfin, Dwain (Regina) Jeffers and LaVern Jeffers, plus numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by; his parents, his brother-in-law Gus Litfin and a sister-in-law Thelma Connelly. A Funeral service for Clarence will be Saturday January 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the LaFarge Free Methodist Church, 214 S. Cherry St. in LaFarge with burial to follow at Bear Creek Cemetery. Friends may call during a Visitation Friday January 25, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Church, or on Saturday January 26, 2019 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM before the service also at the Church.
