Clayton Oliver Weber, 83 of rural Viroqua died Tuesday, November 8, 2011. Clayton Oliver Weber, 83 of rural Viroqua passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 8th at The Bethel Home in Viroqua where he was a resident for the last 3 weeks. Clayton was born January 15, 1928 to Nicholas and Bernice (Zitzner) Weber. Clayton was baptized at Church of Christ in Viroqua and attended Dach Ridge and Viroqua Schools. Clayton was married October 18, 1975 to Harriet L. Henderson. They enjoyed camping and their trips to Warrens Cranberry Festival and other locations in their motor home. Clayton farmed the family farm his whole life and had a true love for the land. Later in life he took great pride in his raspberry and asparagus patches.Clayton was a member of the Liberty Pole United Methodist Church and was very active in dart ball in years past. He was also a member of Viroqua Eagles Aerie 2707. Claytons family as his health declined centered around his kitties. Clayton is survived by sisters Ruth Erickson and Kathryn Hauge; numerous nephews and nieces, great neighbors and long-time friends. Clayton was preceded in death by his wife Harriet on June 7, 1995; his parents; brother Elwyn Weber; sisters Fern Thompson, Helen Weber, and Edith St. John; brothers-in-law Chester Hauge, Kenneth Thompson, Max St. John and Douglas Erickson; nephew Alan Thompson; and great-nephew Kyle Hauge. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 12, at Liberty Pole United Methodist Church. Pastor Ethan Larson will officiate with burial in Liberty Pole Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (hwy56) in Viroqua; prayers services conducted by Reverend Dr. Steven Fossum, with remembrances will begin at 6:30 p.m. In Lieu of Flowers or Plants memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Pole United Methodist Church. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
