Connie Rae Swenson

Connie Swenson, 75, of rural Soldiers Grove, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025. She was born April 23, 1950, in Viroqua, Wisconsin, to Melvin and Myra (Fortney) Olson. Connie was baptized and confirmed at Mt. Sterling Lutheran Church.

She graduated from North Crawford High School in 1968 and from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse in 1972 with a degree in Business Administration. On March 25, 1972, Connie married Rick Swenson at Mt. Sterling Lutheran Church, where she was a lifelong member.

During her working years, Connie was employed by Wisconsin Tobacco Company, Howard Johnson Enterprises, Frank Orchards, Kickapoo Orchard, Vernon County, and Building Automation Products Inc., from which she retired.

Connie enjoyed camping, trail riding in the UTV, listening to music, and attending performances by local musicians. She was also an avid fan of the Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers, and Milwaukee Brewers. She loved traveling with friends and visiting with everyone she met. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Rick Swenson; two sons, Ryan (Heather) Swenson and Kurt (Jesse) Swenson; grandchildren Nora, Kate, Zoe, and Ty Swenson, and Parker and Kylie Audetat; along with other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Myra Olson; her sister, Mary Hunter; and her grandson, Griffin Swenson.

Per her wishes, no services are planned. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
