Corey S. Herried, 52, of Viroqua, died Monday, June 25, 2018. Corey Scott Herried passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Monday, June 25, 2018. Corey was born July 27, 1965 to David and Linda (Eide) Herried. Corey was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed. Corey graduated from Viroqua High School in 1983 where he played football and hockey. After graduation Corey followed his best friends, Rich Moran, Waylen DeWitt, Mike Sanwick and Tim Hansen to Garden City, Kansas to work at a Meat Packing plant. Ten years later Corey returned to Viroqua and started working for Fred Eide in construction. After two years he was hired at the Viroqua Eagles where he has been employed for the last twenty years. The Packer games will never be the same at the Eagles. Corey is survived by his Mom and Dad, David and Linda Herried; sister, Angie Hampton; brother-in-law, Joe Hampton; nephew, Jacob Hampton; and niece, Jenna Hampton; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Sidney and Irene Herried, Lawrence and Darlene Eide; uncle, Monte Eide; and aunts: Pat Eide, Laura (Merritt) Thomas and Cheryl (Darell) Cowden. Corey was loved and will be missed by all. Rest in peace our beloved Son, until we meet again. Mom and Dad Funeral Services for Corey will be Friday, June 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home. Pastor Kathryn Ingbritsen of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Viroqua will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call during visitations on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 4:00-6:00 PM with an EAGLES service beginning at 6:00 PM and on Friday 10:00-11:00 AM before the service at the Funeral Home.
