Dale Andrew Mueller, Sr.

Dale Andrew Mueller, Sr. age 87, of Stoddard, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022, at Hillview Health Care Center, La Crosse, WI. He was born on June 19, 1934, in Alma (Milk Creek), Wisconsin to Andrew and Thelma (Mc Cabe) Mueller. He graduated from Gale-Ettrick High School in 1952. He married Darlene Sandvick on August 28, 1954, they were later divorced. He worked construction after high school. He later worked for Nitron Chemical Company and Alma Dock. In 1976, he started a job he truly loved, driving Semi from coast to coast and was able to see a lot of country. He took a short time off from driving semi and worked for Inway Trucking as a Safety Inspector. His heart was in driving so he returned to driving over the road and finally retired in 2009 from over the road driving, but he continued to drive during harvest time hauling beans and corn for Vesbach Farms until 2015. He loved to duck, pheasant, and deer hunt. He was a member of the De Soto Pirate Booster Club. He coached Stoddard Lions Youth Football for 6 years. He attended numerous NASCAR races, Country Fest concerts, and La Crosse Loggers games. He loved playing euchre and pinochle, golfing, watching old westerns, the Green Bay Packers, and Milwaukee Brewers. His biggest joy was watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play the many sporting events they were involved in. You could often find him sitting watching a ball game even if he didn't have anyone playing. He is survived by two daughters; Teresa (Verlin) Christianson and Dawn (Ronald) Allert; one son, Dale (Barbara) Mueller, Jr.; 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty (Bill) Knight; one sister-in-law, Sharon Mueller; daughter-in-law, Jane Mueller-Henkes; son-in-law, Weldon Thompson; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, DuWayne Charles and Daniel Ray; one daughter, Sheree Ann Thompson; four brothers, Charles, Robert, Larry, and Richard (Rick) Mueller; and two sisters, Pearl and Marilyn Mueller. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Stoddard American Legion, 414 Broadway St., Stoddard, WI.
