Dale W. Reed, age 58 of Westby, died Wednesday, December 9, 2009. Dale Wayne Reed, age 58 of Westby, died Wednesday, December 9, 2009 from a heart attack while trucking near Chatfield, MN. He was born on May 8, 1951 to Wayne and Marion (Jenkins) Reed. He went to Westby High School and graduated in 1969. Dale served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran, earning a Purple Heart. In 1975 he was married to Sukie Han of South Korea. In 1977 he returned to the United States with Sukie. He farmed in the Vernon County area for 18 years and then became a truck driver. He worked for Korth Transfer of Hillpoint, Wi until the time of his death. In addition to his wife, Sukie, he is survived by a daughter, Cindy of LaCrosse; seven sisters: Veronica (Jim) Wieman of Ontario, Patricia (Tyler) Evanson of Trempealeau, Janet (Larry) Olsonowski of Hallock, MN, Julie (Paul) Clark of Cashton, Teresa (Mitch) Williams of LaFarge, Cora (Myron) Jothen of Westby and Carol (Jeff) Kopp of Menominee; many nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Marion Reed; grandparents, Walter and Cora Reed; Theodore and Julia Jenkins; and nephew, Darryl Stalsberg. Blessed be our memory of Dale Wayne Reed. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby with Pastor Karen Bankes officiating. Burial will be in the Dell Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 10 until the time of service at the Vosseteig Funeral Home in Westby.
