Daniel Jon Buske

Daniel "Dan" Jon Buske was born at St. Mary's Hospital in Watertown, Wisconsin, to Rosemary Helen Wedl-Buske and Raymond Frank Buske. Raised in Jefferson, Wisconsin, Dan shared his childhood with two siblings, Patricia and Randy.

On November 2, 2002, Dan married Ruby Jean Jones, and the couple moved to Westby, Wisconsin, where they shared 25 years of love, support, and companionship.

Dan had a passion for writing gaming code and enjoyed engaging in chess with his online community. A true animal lover, his dog Muffie was his heart and joy, and he also cherished time spent with his mother-in-law Alberta Fisher's dog, Lady. Dan found fulfillment in being a stepfather to Ruby's son, Eric Christianson, and valued his time with family and friends.

Dan pursued higher education at Our Lady of the Lake University in Houston, Texas, earning degrees in Philosophy and Religious Studies. While in seminary, he dedicated time to volunteering and participated in several mission trips out West, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to serving others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Helen Buske; his brother, Randy; and his niece, Lisa Parpart. 

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Ruby Buske; his stepson, Eric Christianson; his brother-in-law and sister, Wayne and Patricia Parpart; and many family and friends who were touched by his kindness.

A visitation to honor Dan's life will be held on Tuesday, May 19th, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 South Main Street, Westby, WI 54667, with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. Snacks and refreshments will be served afterward. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
