Daniel DeGroodt, 54, died Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Daniel Ross "Dan" DeGroodt, 54 of Viroqua, WI previously of Huntington Beach, CA passed away peacefully on August 12, 2015 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. Dan was born on August 1, 1961 in Pokipsy, New York to William DeGroodt and MaryPat (Thompson). Dan lived an exciting life, early on he worked in the carnival. Later in life he enjoyed various jobs he held in the Sale Industry. He loved cooking and spending time with his family. In 1985 he met Beverlee Lynch who was his best friend and wife up until he passed away. They had five children and lived in Huntington Beach, CA until they move to Viroqua to be closer to family in July 2015. He enjoyed family gatherings and vacations. He loved his wife, kids, and grandchildren. Dan is survived by his wife, Beverlee Lynch of Viroqua, WI; five children, Christina (Eric) Bankes of Viroqua, WI, Cassie (Hugo) Hernandez of Chula Vista, CA, Ross (Shawna) DeGroodt of Huntington Beach, CA, Ryan DeGroodt of Viroqua, WI, and Joshua (Cara Kasmar) DeGroodt of North Highlands, CA. Six grandchildren Trevor and Lauren Bankes of Viroqua, WI, Erika and Mathew Hernandez of Chula Vista, CA, Ashlee and Ross DeGroodt of Huntington Beach, CA. He is also survived by his parents, William & MaryPat DeGroodt; and four siblings: William "Bill" (Sally) DeGroodt of Henderson, NV, Roberta (Bob) Mearns of Schwenksville, PA, Charles "Chuck" (Susan) DeGroodt of Huntington Beach, CA, and Cathleen (Paul) Bardon of Huntington Beach, CA; along with several nieces, nephews, and many friends. He had an infectious personality and was always able to make you laugh; he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral Services will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua. Friends may call from 2pm till the time of service at 3.
