Darold Nelson Coleman, age 85, died Saturday April 16, 2016 at Sannes Skogdalen Heim in Soldiers Grove, WI. Darold Coleman, age 85, of Soldiers Grove, died on Saturday April 16, 2016 at Sannes Skogdalen Heim in Soldiers Grove, after a courageous battle with leukemia. Darold N. Coleman was born on October 1, 1930, to George and Delia (Callaway) Coleman. After high school, he served four years in the United States Navy, travelling the world aboard a Destroyer. On February 9, 1957, he married Bonnie Salmon and they shared 59 years together. They attended the Community of Christ Church in Montgomeryville. Darold & Bonnie moved back to the Kickapoo Valley in 1967, eventually buying a dairy farm on North Clayton Ridge. In addition to farming, Darold worked for over 60 years as an Ironworker. He loved living on the ridge, enjoying the beautiful skies, sunrises, sunsets, and changing seasons. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports, and spending time with his family and friends. He never met a stranger and had a wonderful sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; four children, Anna (Jon) Mohrmann, Carol (David) Parrell, Thomas (Becky) Coleman, and Jerry (Katrina) Coleman; nine grandchildren, Jenny (Miles) Willson, Nathan Mohrmann, Jacob Mohrmann, Lisa (Colin) Sieve, Angela (Nicholas) Humphrey, Daniel Parrell, Joy Coleman, Courtney Coleman, and Charlie Coleman; four great grandchildren, Ava & Asher Willson, and Hailey & Cynthia Humphrey; one sister, Darleen Johnston; one brother, Larry Coleman; many other relatives and friends, especially his adopted family at Sannes Skogdalen Nursing Heim. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Victor Coleman and Richard Coleman. Funeral services for Darold will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday April 21, 2016 at the Vosseteig Funeral Home in Gays Mills. Pastor John Johnson and Barbara Duke will officiate. Burial with Military rites will follow the service at the Gays Mills Cemetery. Friends may call during a visitation on Wednesday April 20, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home and from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service. In lieu of Flowers or plants memorials may be directed to North Crawford Rescue or to the Community of Christ Church.
