David Joseph Dottl, 76, died on March 31, 2013. David Joseph Dottl, 76, passed away on March 31, 2013 at Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. He was born on February 27, 1937 in Madison, Wisconsin to Joseph and Barbara Dottl. David grew up in Madison, Wisconsin. He graduated from West High School in Madison, Wisconsin in 1955. After high school he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Greenland. He then attended Wisconsin School of Electronics in Madison, Wisconsin where he received a degree in electronics. He worked for IBM in Rochester, Minnesota as a computer technician for a short time and then returned to Madison, Wisconsin to run his fathers business, Dottl Accurate Alignment and Frame, until the time of its sale in 1979. David then returned back to Wisconsin School of Electronics/Herzing University as an instructor until he retired. David married Karen Gae Anderson in 1961 in Madison, Wisconsin and was later divorced. He remarried Mary Ann in 1987 in Viroqua, Wisconsin. David enjoyed teaching, writing, building things and spending quiet, peaceful, time with nature. He was a man of many talents. David is survived by his spouse Mary Ann of Viroqua, Wisconsin; his sons Darren (Lisa) Dottl, of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin and Lane (Christine) Dottl of Oregon, Wisconsin; his daughter Heather Dottl of Winona, Minnesota; his sister Carol Dottl of Madison, Wisconsin; his grandchildren Amanda, David, Joshua, Ashley, Joseph, Jessica, and Gabrielle; his great-grandchildren Jordan, Bobbie, and Kinnley; and his nieces and nephews and other relatives. David was preceded in death by his father Joseph, mother Barbara, and sister Janice. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2013 at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. Pastor Pete Beckstrand will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
