David M. Simonson, age 66 of Westby, died Sunday, January 3, 2010 David M. Simonson, age 66 of Westby, died Sunday evening, January 3, 2010 at the Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua. He was born on May 10, 1943 to Burnie and Beverly (Fladhammer) Simonson. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Viroqua and graduated from Viroqua High School. David served in the U.S. Air Force for five years, and was stationed in England and France. On October 3, 1964 he was united in marriage to Louisette Dumont. and worked for Northern States Power (NSP) for many years as a Journeyman Lineman and retired as a supervisor. In addition to his wife, Louise, he is survived by his mother, Beverly Simonson of Viroqua; one son, Daniel (Amy) Simonson of Westby and their two children: Alana and David; one daughter, Melanie (Matthew) Lang of Franklin, TN and their children: Zachary and Alexander; one sister, Dianne Kurtz of Onalaska and one brother, Dennis (Diane) Simonson of Clovis, Ca; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Burnie Simonson. Services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby with Pastor Julie Wollman officiating.
