David Robert Hoskinson

David Robert Hoskinson, 83, of Viola and formerly of Westby, passed away on Dec. 14, 2006, at the Bethel Home in Viroqua on the day of his 61st wedding anniversary to his wife, Norma. He was born January 11, 1923 in Stafford, Kansas to JC and Emily (Myrick) Hoskinson. On Dec. 14, 1945, he was united in marriage to Norma Jean Ashcraft. He worked for Boeing Aircraft, Alaskan Pipeline, and in later years, for El Paso Natural Gas until retirement. In 1974 he and his wife Norma moved to rural Westby to be near their daughter, Donna and her family. He is survived by his wife, Norma, one daughter, Donna (Hoskinson/Nottestad) Simonson (Thomas) of Viola, one grandson, Shane Nottestad (Emily) their sons Dylan and Ty of Westby, one granddaughter, Bridgett (Nottestad) Neu (JR), their daughter, Julianna, and their son, Braden, of Neosho; a special son James Walden (Nancy) and daughter, Melissa of Farmington, New Mexico; a special granddaughter, Tammy Gundlach and her children Wyatt and Tyra of Viola; special friends Richard and Sherry Weber and daughter Nicole of Lancaster; niece Aprill (Ashcraft) Harrod (Tim) and their children Jeremy, Natalie, William and Peter of Ruidoso, New Mexico; niece Pamela Ashcraft of Ruidoso, New Mexico; and sister-in-law, Merle (McElroy/Ashcraft) Dunlap of Glencoe, New Mexico. David and Norma spent the winter months with relatives in Texas and New Mexico. He enjoyed being with his family. He had a vast knowledge of life and he passed that knowledge on to his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Velma, a brother Charles and a brother-in-law, Rock. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 18th, 2006, at the Bethesda Lutheran Brethren Church in Westby, Wisconsin. Friends may call on Sunday , December 17th from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Blessed be the memory of David Robert Hoskinson.
