De Verne Struxness, 70, of Westby, died Tuesday, July 11, 2017. DeVerne Stanley Struxness, age 70 of rural Westby, died Tuesday, July 11, 2017. He was born on September 6, 1946 the son of Stanley and Eva (Dahlen) Struxness. DeVerne farmed and enjoyed playing softball. He was instrumental in the development of the Snowflake Golf Course where he continued to work as a groundskeeper. He also worked at Serendipity Golf Course near Avalanche. He is survived by aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends. DeVerne was preceded in death by his father, Stanley on October 26, 1997, his mother, Eva on October 15, 2006; aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Pastor Julie Wollman will officiate with burial to follow in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call on Monday for a visitation one hour prior to the service at the Vosseteig Funeral Home.
