WESTBY Delia V. Stendalen, age 103, died Thursday May 18, 2017. Delia V. Stendalen, age 103, passed away Thursday May 18 at Norseland Nursing Home with her daughters by her side. Delia was born April 17, 1914 to Oscar and Nettie (Nilson) Constalie. Delia married Gilbert Stendalen July 5, 1941 and they lived on the East Ridge family farm for most of their married life until moving to Westby in 1983. Gilbert passed away Aug 25, 1987. Delia was very active in her church serving over 20 years as president of the Bloomingdale Ladies Aid as well as an active member of the Hannah Circle serving until she was 100 years old. Delia felt honored to be chosen as the Syttende Mai "Grandmother of the Year" in 2000. Delia is survived by her daughters Donna (Jim) Neureuther and Ilene (Mike) Sebion, 3 grandchildren; Jamie (Nick) Weber, Bradley (Shannon) Sebion, and Katie (Jacob) Hawes, 4 great-grandchildren; Delia and Mathias Weber, Riley and Norah Sebion along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Delia was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert, two sisters and brothers-in- law; Alice (Alf) Larson and Ona (George) Humfeld, an infant brother Blaine and also her special friend Clarice Weissenberger. The family would like to extend great appreciation to the staff at the Norseland Nursing Home and to Elaine DeWitt her caregiver and friend for the special care they gave mom. They also want to thank her special neighbors on Central Court as well as Arnie and Katherine Anderson who helped mom with any project. Delia was an incredible wife, a great mom, a fantastic grandma. Many relatives and friends remember Delia as an "amazing lady". She truly lived a wonderful life and will be greatly missed. Funeral Services for Delia will be held Monday May 22, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church, 500 S. Main St. in Westby. Pastor Julie Wollman will officiate with burial in Coon Prairie Cemetery following the service. Friends may call during a visitation one hour before the service from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the church.
