Delores Mae “Roundy” (Olson) Randall, age 85, passed away at the Soldiers Grove Health Services on April 19, 2024. Born on August 16, 1938, to Osmond and Onah (Schoville) Olson, Delores was the oldest of five children.
Delores graduated from Readstown High School in 1958, and married Paul Randall on July 18, 1959. She was a cherished mother to Cindy (Jeff) Clements, Connie (Mark) Myler, Steve (Lana) Randall and Bob (Marla) Randall and a loving grandma to 12 Grandchildren, 22 Great-Grandchildren with two on the way, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Delores and Paul also had many foster children in their home with Steven (Brenda) Graw and Kim (Vig) Nundahl becoming part of the family.
Delores loved her family and found immense joy in family and friends gathering at her kitchen table where she served homemade noodles, lefse, apple pie, bread, donuts, or cherry cheesecake to name a few. No one ever left her house hungry.
The kitchen table was also the place for numerous board games played with her grandchildren. She loved to play cards and enjoyed teaching her grandchildren a new game when she learned one.
Some of Delores’ favorite activities include the ladies’ card club, ceramics group, attending Cousins’ dinner, the snowmobile club breakfast, quilting, trying new recipes, attending to her beautiful flowers, and visiting and shopping with her friends Jeanine Kepler, Kathy Olson, Lola Olson, and Denise Knoble. Morning coffee at the Yoders was always a must.
Her cooking talents were also used at Kickapoo Inn and for 20 years as the head cook at Kickapoo Schools. No one left hungry even if they didn’t have a lunch ticket. She enjoyed cooking for a large crowd.
Delores was a faithful member of the Sugar Grove Church of Christ for 65 years. She enjoyed singing and traveling with the Parish Singers and decorating for the monthly potlucks.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Paul; granddaughter, Niya; foster son, Steven Graw; siblings, Fred Olson, Doug Olson, Kathaleen Schultz, and Patricia Sullivan.
Roundy will be remembered for her boundless love, energy and devotion to her family and friends. Rest in peace Roundy. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
