Dena Underwood

Dena Underwood, 61, of La Farge, died Saturday, June 30, 2018. Dena was born on February 16, 1957 in La Farge to Jim Fleming and Shirley Rae Strait. Dena was well known and loved throughout the La Farge area. She worked for over 12 years at Bergums IGA Food Mart mostly in the meat department but a lot of her time was also driving and delivering groceries to shut-ins, the elderly and the handicapped. Dena loved to cook. She was a self appointed chef for the Hometown Village Apartments by fixing roasters full of food and taking them to the community kitchen so everyone could have something to eat. Above all else, Dena loved her grandchildren and spending time with family. She also enjoyed reading. She was crazy about the Chicago Bears even here in Wisconsin. And, Dena loved CC, her cat and her dog, Anna. God bless our memories of Dena, she is greatly missed. Dena is survived by; her children, Christopher Lee (Krista) Underwood, Joseph Lee (Sabrina) Underwood, Daniel Lee (Amanda Hasse) Underwood and Katie Lynn Underwood, and her grandchildren 9 Underwoods; Austin, Zachary, Lexus, Dustin, Brandon, Lyllian Marie, Aarilyn Mae, Olana and Zyler, and 3 Straits; Madyson, Matt Jr. and Shana. Still surviving are also her sisters, Julie Strait and Lisa (Don) Hughes and her brothers; Marc Strait, Scott (Jennifer) Fleming, Michael (Karla) Strait and Scott Michael (Liz) Zydel. Dena was preceded in death by; her parents, her brother Dennis J. Campton, her sister Carolyn Strait and her son Matthew James Strait. A Private burial service has been arranged. A "Celebration of Life" will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 1:00-3:00 P.M. at the La Farge Community Center, 202 N. State St. in La Farge.
