Denis G. Howell, age 65 of the Fort Atkinson and Viola WI, died Tuesday August 21, 2018. Denis Glenn Howell, 66, of Fort Atkinson, Wis., and Viola, Wis., passed away Tuesday, August, 21, 2018, at the Vernon Memorial Healthcare, Viroqua, Wis. He was born October 24, 1952, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Glenn and Karen Howell. He graduated from Johnson Creek High School. From there he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force serving one term. He then moved to South Carolina where he met and married Jenny Brunson. To that marriage two boys were born, Denny and Donovan. They later divorced and he found himself moving back home to Wisconsin where he met Pamela Smith. They were married August 30, 1986. On January 21, 1990, a daughter Kayla was born. He was an over the road truck driver for many years. Dennie loved his family and friends, putting on firework displays, and haunts helping his best friend Jeff Woods with an annual haunt. His pride and joy was his 1934 Ford hearse, which he displayed proudly. His other best friend was his dog, Pyro. Dennie is survived by his wife, Pamela, of Fort Atkinson, Wis.; his mother, Karen Howell, of Viola, Wis.; sisters, Lynette Owens of Viola and Bonnie (Loren) Sherman of LaFarge, Wis.; children, Denny (Lana) Howell, and Donovan (Brandy) Howell, of Camden, S.C.; daughter, Kayla of Madison, Wis.; mother-in law and father-in law, Nancy and Roger Smith of Fort Atkinson;brother-in-laws, Roger (Tammy) Smith of Palmyra, Wis., Steve (Jenny) Smith of Las Vegas, Nevada, Randy (Becky) Smith of Fort Atkinson, and Eric Smith of Mayville, Wis.; grandchildren: Matthew (Jessica) Howell, Taylor Howell, Savanah Howell, Logan Howell, and Chloe Howell; great-granddaughter, Sky Howell; nieces and nephews: Reo Owens, Shaun and Kevin Sherman, Rachel (Chad) Graves; Roger and Kylie Smith, Jacob and Brittany Smith, Jessie, Josh and Gwen Smith; great nieces and nephews: Jordyn and Jacob Graves, and Parker Smith, and special 'nieces' Janelle and Jessica Woods. Preceeding him in death was his father, Glenn Howell, and former wife, Jenny. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at noon at the Vosseteig Funeral Homes Henthorn Memorial Center in Viola. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Burial with military rites will be in the Viola Cemetery.
