Dennis E. Larson, age 62 of Stoddard, died Sunday, March 29, 2009. Dennis E. Larson, age 62 of Stoddard, died Sunday, March 29, 2009 after a short but dignified battle with cancer. He was born on March 17, 1947 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin to Leonard and Bernice (Yaeger) Larson. He graduated from Logan High School and worked at Trane Co. in LaCrosse. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1967 and served in Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge, he worked at various places before being hired at Trane. He retired in November of 2007. He loved gardening and was an avid flower gardener. Dennis enjoyed feeding and watching birds and squirrels. He was also an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing (and ice fishing). Dennis is survived by his son, Dean Marsh of San Antonio, Texas; two grandchildren: Jordan and Justin Marsh of Houston, Texas; three siblings: Bev Larson of Westby, Alan (Kim) Larson of Westby and Judith Larson (Steve Nordstrom) of Holmen; two nieces, Laura and Kari; one nephew, Levi; two great nieces; two great nephews; special cousins, Leo and Joan Tallman of Dubuque, Iowa; and special friends: Judy and Dick Peterson of Chaseburg and Henry Kreibich of Stoddard. He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Randy Gensch. The family would especially like to thank the Vernon Memorial Hospital and Hospice for their wonderful care. Private services will be held on Friday at Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at King, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Vernon Memorial Hospice. The family is being served by the Vosseteig Funeral Homes.
