Dina Rose Abbey, age 64 of Soldiers Grove, died Thursday, March 4, 2010. Dina Rose Abbey, age 64 of Soldiers Grove, died Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Sannes Skogdalen Nursing Home where she had been a resident for the past two years. Dina was born in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin on April 5, 1945 to Robert Leon and Inga (Olson) Scribbins. She grew up in the Mt. Sterling area and on September 12, 1966 was united in marriage to William Abbey at the Little Brown Church in Iowa and they lived in the Lynxville area for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and collecting Avon. She is survived by her husband, William; one daughter, Rhonda Abbey of Prairie du Chien; one son, Douglas (Carolyn) Abbey of Gays Mills; four grandchildren: Austin and Krystal Abbey of Gays Mills, Larry (Megan) Swiggum of Onalaska and Bryant Swiggum of Towerville; one brother, John (Teresa) Scribbins of Richland Center; one sister-in-law, Betty Binns of Madison; special friends, Jackie and Marilyn; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Larry and David Scribbins; and one sister, Diana Scribbins. Blessed be our memory of Dina Rose Abbey. Visitation with viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Dommersnaes-Bertram Family Funeral Home in Gays Mills. Graveside services will follow at the Utica Cemetery with Pastor Anna Sorenson officiating. A memorial gathering will take place on Sunday March 14th from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Soldiers Grove American Legion. The Dommersnaes-Bertram Family Funeral Home of Gays Mills is serving the family.
