Donald Geddes, age 77 of Burlington, Wis. died Sunday, September 23, 2007 Donald D. Geddes age 77 of Burlington, WI died Sunday, September 23 at St. Lukes Hospital Milwaukee, WI. He was born February 8, 1930 to Buford and Iva (Lewis) Geddes in Vernon County.Donald was employed at American Motors / Chrysler Corporation in Kenosha, WI and retired at 30 plus years.He enjoyed working on projects such as maintaining automobiles/ equipment, landscaping, woodworking, and remodeling. He enjoyed spending time with his family; especially playing poker during the holidays or just socializing sharing a cold brew. He was a wonderful husband and family man sharing in family issues and always eager to lend a helping hand.He is survived by his wife Margaret (Springborn) Geddes whom he married on October 27th, 1953 and has been happily married for 54 years. Together they share three children: one daughter Karen and (Richard) Jacks of Viola, WI, two sons Ricky and (Sue) Geddes, Genoa City WI, and Gregory and (Dawn) Geddes of Burlington WI. Five grandchildren: Jacqueline Geddes of Tucson AZ, Amanda and Nicole Geddes of Burlington WI, and Tim and Jessica Jacks of Viola, WI. Two Great- Grandchildren: Dylan and Autumn Jacks of Viola, WI. One brother: Dale Geddes of Viroqua; two sisters Jenny Simonson of Viroqua, and Connie Melvin of Readstown; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.He was preceded in death by his mother and father Buford and Iva (Lewis) Geddes; Sisters Verda Hanson and Barbara Fox, and two infant sisters.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 26th at 11 a.m. at the New HopeUnited Methodist Church in Redmound, WI. Pastor Bill Busch will officiate with in the burial in the Walnut Mound Cemetery in Retreat. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials for Donald Geddes may be made to the Burlington United Methodist Church or Love Inc. of Burlington. The Vosseteig- Larson Funeral Home of DeSoto is assisting the family.
