Sherman Blihovde, age 46 of Westby, died Friday evening, May 8, 2009. D. Sherman Blihovde, Jr. age 46 of Westby, died Friday evening, May 8, 2009 at Gundersen Lutheran in LaCrosse of complications from diabetes. He was born on July 15, 1962 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin to Donald S. and Betty Jane (Oyer) Blihovde, Sr. Sherman enjoyed working on cars and trucks and driving around visiting people. He liked spending time with close friends hunting and fishing and was a fan of demolition derbies. Sherman loved his family and is survived by two sisters: Judy Howell (Mark) of LaCrosse and Doris (Silas) Howell of Westby; three nieces: Brenda, Jessica and Sarah; three nephews: Eugene, Kevin, and Silas, Jr.; special friends, John Haggerty, Barb Moen and Craig Peterson; many other friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Diane. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 320 Main (Hwy 82) in DeSoto. Pastor Bill Busch will officiate with burial in the Coon Valley Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday after 12:00 noon at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in DeSoto. The Vosseteig Funeral Homes are serving the family.
