Donna J. Gardner, 76, of Viroqua, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012 Donna J. Gardner, age 76, of Viroqua died Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse surrounded by her family. She was born May 27, 1935, in Vernon County to Alvin and Ethel (Turner) Holt. She was employed at Freeman Shoe in Beloit for several years. On April 30, 1966, she married Orvin Gardner. They farmed in rural Viroqua all their married life. She was a member of the Liberty Pole United Methodist Church. Donna is survived by her husband, Orvin; two sons, Brian (Tammy) Gardner of Viroqua and Darin (Teresa) Gardner of Westby; one daughter, Stacy (Jeff) Matson of Stoddard; and six grandchildren, Amanda Gardner, Faith, Jacob and Riley Gardner, and Alan and Otto Matson. She is also survived by three sisters, Anita Peterson (Rodney Lunde), Doris Laylan, and Susan (Joe) Resch; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Bud Johnson; one brother, Don Holt; two sisters, Anna Behnke and Karen Johnson; and infant grandchildren. Blessed be our memory of Donna J. Gardner. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Liberty Pole United Methodist Church. Pastor Ethan Larson will officiate. The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker St., (Hwy. 56) in Viroqua, with a prayer service to be held at 6:30. Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday from 12 noon until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
