Donna Torgerson

DeSoto Donna Torgerson, age 88, died Tuesday August 8, 2017 at Bethany Riverside Nursing Home in LaCrosse. Donna Lea Torgerson, 88, of De Soto, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in La Crosse, WI with her family by her side. Donna was born on July 7, 1929 in Victory, WI to Ben and Ella (Mowry) Henderson. She married Roy Virgil Torgerson on May 7, 1949. They were married for 35 years until his death on September 17, 1984. She worked at WISCO for 17 years, until her retirement in 1989. There was nothing Donna enjoyed more than spending time with family and friends and she especially enjoyed the vacations she took with them. She also loved sunsets, sunrises, being out in nature and Nascar races. Donna is survived by her three children: Gerald (Sheri) Torgerson of Victory, WI, Rita (Norm) Anderson of Soldiers Grove, WI, and Kathy (Greg) Guillemette of Angola, IN; five grandchildren: Shawn (Deborah) Torgerson of Eastman, WI, Michele (Kevin) McGinley of New Glarus, WI, Jennifer (Don Elliott) Elsner of Muscoda, WI, April Sickinger of Monroe, WI, and Eric Guillemette of Angola, IN; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Elmer Henderson of McFarland, WI; as well as by many nieces, nephews, and special friends who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Torgerson; parents, Ben and Ella Henderson; and granddaughter, Dawn Torgerson. Funeral Services will be held at 12pm on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the New Hope United Methodist Church in Red Mound. Pastor Larry Stegall will officiate with burial to follow in the Walnut Mound Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10am till the time of service at 12pm.
